Coastal REALTORS® Members Strengthen Communities Through Volunteer Service in May

From protecting coastal wildlife to supporting local arts programs and helping families create welcoming homes, Coastal Association of REALTORS® members demonstrated their commitment to community service throughout the month of May.

Volunteer efforts across the Delmarva Peninsula highlighted the many ways REALTORS® contribute to the communities they serve beyond the real estate transaction.

Supporting Delaware Bay Conservation

On May 1, members volunteered their time to conduct Horseshoe Crab Surveys on Big Stone Beach, Delaware, during the evening high tide. These annual surveys provide important data used to monitor the health of the horseshoe crab population in Delaware Bay during mating season.

The information collected helps researchers and conservation organizations better understand population trends and supports efforts to preserve one of the region's most unique and ecologically important species.

Keller Williams Red Day Gives Back Across Delmarva

On May 14, members from Keller Williams Delaware Beaches and Keller Williams Delmarva North participated in Keller Williams Realty's annual Red Day, a company-wide day of community service dedicated to giving back.

Local volunteers spent the day supporting several community initiatives. Team members assembled art kits for children and organized supplies for summer concert volunteers at the Freeman Arts Pavilion, helping ensure local youth and families have access to engaging arts experiences throughout the summer season.

The group also partnered with Habitat for Humanity to install flower beds at a newly completed home, helping provide a warm and welcoming environment for a local homeowner.

Participating volunteers included Lauren Bunting, Jon Barker, Lindsay Patton, Eka Suryadi Polling, Kim McCabe, Amanda Sweigert, Kim Blair, Mandi Gaca Martenson, and Michelle Macia.

A Commitment Beyond Real Estate

These volunteer efforts reflect the REALTOR® commitment to strengthening the communities where we live and work. Whether supporting environmental conservation, arts education, affordable housing, or countless other local causes, Coastal REALTORS® continue to make a positive impact throughout the region.

Community involvement remains a cornerstone of the REALTOR® profession, demonstrating that REALTORS® are not only real estate professionals but also dedicated community leaders and advocates.
